About Greenhouse Sports

Through sport and mentoring, the charity supports over 9,000 young people to attend school more often, improve their wellbeing, and raise their aspirations, transforming life chances in the communities that need it the most.

Full-time Coach-Mentors work daily in schools in high-deprivation areas – improving attendance, behaviour, wellbeing, and life skills through structured, evidence-based programmes. Beyond school, the Greenhouse Centre provides year-round sport, mentoring, and outreach for young people and communities who need it most.

Coach Mentors are equipped with a proven curriculum. Developed with and backed by data, the charity have developed the STEP life skills framework used across their programmes. This approach is rooted in Positive Youth Development, a strengths-based model that helps young people discover what they’re capable of, and who they can become.

To ensure quality and consistency, they have developed the Greenhouse Curriculum – a structured, evidence-based programme that sets a new standard for youth development through sport. Built with leading experts, it includes: age-appropriate coaching plans linked to STEP, built-in mentoring and reflection moments, and outcomes aligned to school priorities like attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.

The organisation work across primary schools, secondary schools as well as the programmes offered out of the Greenhouse Centre. Programmes are now running in 65 schools. These are largely in London, with a small number in Leicester and Portsmouth.
